Ptolemy is a
freely distributable,
extensible block diagram environment for specifying, simulating, and
generating code for signal processing and communications systems.
It supports graphical and textual user interfaces, as well as interfaces to
design tools such as
Matlab and Mathematica.

Currently Available Ptolemy Software
- Ptolemy 0.2 devel was
released on Febrary 25, 1999. Ptolemy 0.2 devel is a developer's release.
The demonstrations
can be run on-line, so the only reason to download the release is if
you are interested in actually developing code for Ptolemy II.
- Ptolemy II 0.1 alpha was released
on November 26, 1998. Ptolemy II 0.1 alpha is a developer's release
of Ptolemy II - Heterogeneous Concurrent Modeling and Design in Java
- Ptolemy 0.7.2devel
is available for testing to experienced Ptolemy developers.
- Ptolemy 0.7.1 is the stable production release. It was released on June 12, 1998.
- Ptolemy 0.7 was released
on June 13, 1997.
- Ptolemy 0.6 was released on April 12, 1996.
- The sources for Ptolemy 0.5.2, the
previous release, are also available.
- Ptiny 0.5, a demonstration version of Ptolemy,
for Sun Sparc (SunOS4.x only, not Solaris2.x),
DecStation (Ultrix), and HP (HP/UX)
architectures, requiring 12 Mb of disk space.
Ptiny0.5 will not work under Solaris2.x, use Ptolemy0.7 instead.
